London Councils deeply concerned at TfL threat to disabled door-to-door travel schemes "A TfL board meeting today, (Wednesday, 27 June) is set to propose that TfL take over the boroughs’ Taxicard service and incorporate it into its Dial-a-Ride scheme. This is coupled with a threat to withdraw the financial contribution it currently makes to boroughs to support Taxicard. Boroughs have not been consulted by TfL on the plans." [from London Councils]

Residents back eco-parking hike

"People living in north London have voted to increase the cost of parking permits for "gas guzzling" vehicles.

"In what is thought to be the first referendum of its kind in the city, 56% of Islington residents backed the move.
