The latest Congestion Charge Monitoring Report was published in June 2006. It reveals a few key figures about the sums raised by the congestion charge (and from fixed penalty charges) since the scheme's inception. The report identifies that in the second half of 2005, around 96,000 payments of the charge were made each day. The number of penalty charge notices issued in 2005 was around 5,500, significantly down on the number issued in 2004.
Despite the drop in penalty charges given out during the period of this report this is undoubtedly a significant amount of money.
LondonUnlocked will continue to monitor the situation and update this page as new figures become available.
