Following the recent cancellation of Underground strikes by the RMT and TSSA, there are reports that workers from collapsed contractor Metronet are to take up the baton and strike themselves. Reports the PA:
Workers at collapsed London Underground contractor Metronet have voted to go on strike in a row over staff transfers, pensions and travel facilities, it was announced.
The Rail Maritime and Transport union said 751 of its members had backed industrial action, with 171 against, a majority of four to one.
The union is seeking guarantees that when Metronet contracts are transferred to Transport for London, none of its 2,500 members involved will have to join other employers and that they will all be able to pay into TfL's pension scheme.
