Transport Briefing follows up on yesterday's story on transport funding for the proposed Thames Gateway development.
"The high-frequency bus route will link Barking and Dagenham Dock in east London via the Barking Riverside development area, which has recently been granted Britain's largest ever planning agreement and will include more than 10,000 new homes. It is expected to be operational in 2010.
East London Transit will feature bus priority measures at junctions to speed up journey times along with sections of segregated bus-only road. A new fleet of vehicles - either double-deckers or articulated 'bendy-buses' - will be procured. Bus stops will be upgraded and the service will carry ELT branding."
There are also plans for a waterfront transit scheme. Full details can be found here.
