Strike off (2)

Tube Strike

Last minute talks have seen the 72-hour strike, planned for today, to be called off. The strike has been called off as the RMT and LU have agreed to continue a station-by- station review of ticket office closures, and given a guarantee that those staff who do not wish to take voluntary redundancy as a result of the Fit For The Future programme are offered a job on the same terms elsewhere within TfL.

Both sides have claimed victory at the last minute decision. In truth, the real winners - at least in the short term - are Londoners.
