TfL consults on latest East London Transit bus route "Transport for London will this week begin a public consultation on the Barking town centre to Dagenham Dock section of the proposed East London Transit scheme.

"From Thursday 24 May to Friday 13 July TfL will canvas opinion on four route options, all of which would run via Barking Riverside. It says the project will revitalise the area by providing better access to jobs, education, healthcare and community facilities for existing and future communities. Bus-only routes, with sections of busway segregated from other traffic, would be served by environmentally friendly hybrid-engine buses and would have shorter journey times than existing bus routes. To enhance security waiting areas would be better lit than standard bus stops and would have real-time information displays." [from Transport Briefing]
