With last night's glorious opening ceremony, the Paralympics have come to London. If you're visiting the Games or just planning on travelling around London during them, here's our guide to getting about.
Travelling during the Paralympics
As during the Olympics, the Get Ahead of the Games website offers all you need to plan your journey to and from the venues.
Those planning to drive need take into consideration that the Games Lanes have been reintroduced for the Paralympics although on a smaller scale. Straying into the Lanes risks a £130 fine so drivers should be aware and plan ahead. Despite only giving warnings during the first six days of the Olympics £845,000 in fines were issued during the Olympics.
Arguably the Paralympics will place greater pressure on London than the Olympics did - commuters will be out in force, schools are returning, and a number of large events such as Proms in the Park and Premiership football matches taking place. Londoners and visitors alike will have to plan ahead to ensure a smooth journey.
